Kristen's New Interview with Elle

How would you describe the shoot?

KS: I always felt like there was this sense of discovery in these pictures especially looking back on them. It was like you have this girl dropped in a very unknown place; and to see her struggle to survive and find herself, who she really is, is interesting. It looks like some vines are starting to grow into her and they are becoming a part of her and she is clearly very comfortable, owning it more. It’s not disarmed, it’s rather the opposite; it’s a little more assertive.

When you were on set were you shooting?

KS: In this particular case? The first few photos for the first campaign were all very frontal and full, you could see my entire face. I wasn’t hiding behind anything really. Now this shoot is sort of a little bit more subtle. It’s over the shoulder, it’s like whoa. I’ve been here in my own world for so long now, who is looking at me? It’s sort of, I don’t want to say aggressive, but it’s like what? Bring it on.

Was this shoot more comfortable than the last shoot?

KS: I mean I liked both. You couldn’t start here – you have to start at the beginning. So it’s interesting to see where it went.

Kristen's New Interview with Nylon Magazine

the insider: kristen stewart
the actress plays matchmaker with her favorite scents.

French fashion house Balenciaga is pretty badass-- so obviously the label wasn’t going to put out any old floral fragrance. Its Florabotanica convinced cool girls, who wouldn’t normally go anywhere near a flowery scent, to join the garden party. That status was cemented by its face Kristen Stewart--an actress who doesn’t do girly-girl, as evidenced by her preference for Chucks and unwashed hair on the red carpet. This spring, Stewart reprised her spokesperson role for Balenciaga’s latest unconventional take on a flower, Rosabotanica. She was nice enough to take the time to discuss the fragrances, what she would wear with each, and which one would be Bella’s signature scent.

You’ve said in the past that you weren’t really into fragrances, but now that you’ve been the face of the Balenciaga fragrances for awhile, are you more comfortable being a perfume-wearer?

Yeah, yeah I’m a very comfortable perfume-wearer now. I hadn’t really taken to any particular scent before I did this, and so luckily, I was more than a huge fan of it when I first smelled it. Whenever I had anything to do with them it always felt like, you know, just really fucking cool and natural and. To be the face of a brand seems a bit of a superficial, but this was really about my love for Balenciaga. And then so, when I actually smelled Florabotanica, I really took to it. I sort of came into my own, in regards to fragrance, at a perfect time.

It feels very adult, once you find your signature scent.

It does, right? And, you know, it doesn’t go with everything, like if you wake up and put on a T-shirt and a baseball cap, it’s not like you’re gonna put on the fragrance. But if you go to dinner that night h, it’s such a nice little touch to add. It makes you feel a little bit more ready.

So do you feel the same about the new one, Rosabotanica?

I’m not sure which one I like more. They’re really different, like it feels like Florabotanica is like white wine, and Rosabotanica is like red, like a little deeper. It’s a little muskier. It’s like they come from the same garden, but the new variation is a bit warmer and headier. It feels like a little bit more nighttime.

Rosabotanica is a little sexier?

It is! Honestly.

So when would you wear Florabotanica versus Rosabotanica?

I think it’s about mood. I would wear Rosabotanica at night, and I would wear Florabotanica in the day. But when I didn’t have Rosabotanica, I wore Florabotanica at night. I feel like if you’re someone who is like quite young wearing it, it can make you feel like, like you’ve like stepped up to the plate, like you’re a little older, like you’re a little bit more ready and finished. And then, I can totally imagine giving it to my mom and having her be like “Wow! This is awesome. This is like fresh.” Depending on who you are, I feel like it has different effects.

Which pieces from Balenciaga would wear with each of these fragrances?

If I were to go out at night and wear my leather jacket, I’d probably put on Rosabotanica. I have this jumpsuit that’s a little bit older but it’s sick, and that I would definitely wear Florabotanica.

If you were going to pick out characters you’ve played, who would wear these fragrances?

That’s interesting. Let’s see…Well, I think Bella (from Twilight) would probably wear Rosabotanica because she is completely preoccupied with all things sexy. And I just finished a movie called Sils Maria, and I play the personal assistant to Juliette Binoche, who’s playing a really famous actress. And you’re always a little bit more curious about my character because you don’t know anything about her and her life but she’s still a big part of the story, so like when anything is revealed about her, like she’s into this guy, or she’s into this artist or something, you’re like, “Oh, whoa! Who are you?” And I think she would be a Rosabotanica girl. Like a little bit darker and more mysterious. Then I would say that Marylou in On the Road, would definitely wear Florabotanica. The character in the book is so fucking effortlessly sexy and light. She’s so sweet and very unassuming.

New Kristen Interview in 'Her World' April 2014 Magazine (Singapore)

The only perfumes Kstew ever wears

Actress Kristen Stewart tells Jaclyn Gunasilan about her two favorite fragrances and the one item she can't leave home without.

She had no interest in perfumes before she was 22.

"Up until I was about 21 or 22, I wasn't really interested in fragrances and never sought them out," says the 24-year-old actress and face of Balenciaga's scents, Florabotanica and the new Rosabotanica.

Her one makeup must-have: lip balm

"I don't get too attached to things, so I don't carry a lot of makeup around. But I feel iffy when I don't have lip balm on me."

Florabotanica was her first signature scent

"Florabotanica stood out for me because it smells organic, not synthetic," says the American actress. "I wore it so frequently that I was starting to 'abuse' it," she adds. "So I'm glad that I have the new Rosabotanica scent now to use as well. It's more of a night-time scent than Florabotanica - it's muskier."

Which scent would she wear with these outfits?

We can imagine Kristen spritzing on Florabotanica, a green-floral scent with notes of rose, mint and carnation, when she wears a casual, brightly coloured outfit.

Kristen says she would pair the new Rosabotanica perfume with a sophisticated all-black outfit, like the one on the left. Described as a spicy and green rose scent, Rosabotanica features notes like pepper, hyacinth and fig.

New Kristen Interview in Lucky Magazine (April 2014 Issue)

Transcript

The actress began with the usual celebrity recommendations: "Water? Moisturizer...?" She paused. "You know, I could just go get my bag and tell you what's in it!" With the products, out spilled more beauty rules than could fit on this page. "Life is about layering, putting something together that's exciting," she said. "The same way you approach fashion, beauty's another layer."

1. Channel your icons.

"Stylewise, I like dark and weird. I love Patti Smith. And I like to throw in a little Brigitte Bardot."

2. Carry a great concealer.

"Kevyn Aucoin makes the tiniest little tub of concealer, and it's so good. You hardly need any, but it makes a huge difference.

3. Temporary tattoos are actually amazing.

"In my new movie Clouds of Sils Maria, my character has tattoos. Ladies, I'm just saying, if you want to change up your look, these very affordable transfers are more effective than switching your part!"

4. Find your perfect perfume.

"It's the interesting layer that just ups your game, elevates your look. For Rosabotanica, I'll never forget going over to Nicholas' [Ghesquiere, then at Balenciaga, now at Louis Vuitton] house, sitting in front of him while he sketched- I really satisfied that little obsession! It was incredible to be part of his team. Perfume is so personal, you just have to try it- this one, really, is amazing."

5. Good skin is the greatest.

"Proactov! It rules!"

6. Eat healthfully.

"I'm the worst- a burger connoisseur! This is totally #shitLApeoplesay, but oh my god, I love kale. And I do enjoy a juice- kale, romaine, parsley, flaxseed and apple.

7. No blow-dries.

"I never put any heat on my hair- I love texture. Right now I'm into Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray for texture, and I've been using a lot of dry shampoo. I have a lot of hair, but it is fine- the dry shampoo gives me serious chunk."

Kristen's New Interview in Elle France (Scan & Translation)

Translation

The American actress, Face of Balenciaga and her secret beauty.

Your secret for beautiful skin?
I watch to always clean my skin. I use Proactiv + special teenager‘s cleansing which fits really good with me, I don’t really know what will happen if I stop one day. Then I apply eye contour and a moisturizing cream; Dermalogica or a treatment by a make-up artist, I think it’s good for the skin.

Your make-up that you use everyday?
I don’t put anything heavy on my skin. And when I don’t have this perfect black line of eyeliner made by my make-up artist Jillian Dempsey, I take H&M’s eyeliner which is really good and cheap. The other day I asked my friend to buy me five of them! The final result is to be natural and thin cause I don’t want to look like a raccoon! And as I like my lip color I only apply moisturizing balm Rosebud.

And to go out?
A little red lip, few or really red but nothing in between. When I have to dress for an events I wear a Chanel’ s dark nail polish, rouge, noir ou dark blue according what I wear.

Do you have a plan to keep a thin body?
I can eat five cheeseburger in a week! I‘m lucky I don’t have to watch what I eat. But before I shoot a movie, I try to eat better and healthier. I love cooking: I make the best quinoa, with coco’s milk instead of water, mango and herbs. Crunchy and creamy at the same time!

Something you do all the time?
I don’t have a trainer but I should! I love running, swimming, skateboarding and biking or a walk with my dogs. I’m lucky to live in California where there are a lot of nice place outdoors, I’m boring to practice in a fitness center! But I do it sometimes like before shooting Snow White; I knew that I won’t stop running, and I didn’t want everybody wait me to catch my breath! I practiced everyday in L.A with a trainer who kicked my ass, I was in a good shape.

In you armor there is …
Rosabotanica de Balenciaga, I was fan of Florabotanica, the previous fragrance. Unlike its name this new perfume isn’t too much flowery, there is something warm. And especially it’s different on each person.

The best beauty advice someone give you?
Drink water and sleep.

Kristen's Interview with Stylist UK Magazine

Kristen: "The Rules I Live By"

Actress Kristen Stewart shares her manifesto for today's modern woman (and has a cathartic rant while she's at it).

A Sense of Purpose is Vital

"Female ambition is different to men's. Men have a drive to make their mark on the world so people remember them. Women are more fulfilled with the selfless drive to create things, but one of the main struggles is finding out what you're good at and going for it. If you don't have a sense of purpose, you'll just sit down and die!"

Feel the Fear

"You've got to get comfortable with fear, nothing's worth doing unless you're a little bit scared. People call women the weaker sex - it's crazy. You have to stand up to that and be ready for things to be hard and for things to be serious."

Be Tactful

"It's a total cliche - a man in a powerful position is considered assertive, whereas a woman is a bitch. So unfortunately we do need to consider how things are coming across - because people will stop listening to women much more quickly than they will a man."

Have a Mantra

"My mantras 'everyone, calm the f*** down!' When things get crazy - and I have been through it - I often repeat those words."

New Quick-Fire Beauty Quiz with Kristen from Times UK

K-Stew's Secrets

What did a quick-fire beauty quiz with Kristen Stewart, face of the new Balenciaga Rosabotanica fragrance, reveal?

Preferred fragrance-dousing area: behind knees or décolletage?
My go-to area is the boobs. I use two sprays, then I get dressed and spritz one on my clothes.

How much is too much fragrance?
You definitely don't want to walk into a room and blast everyone with your perfume.

What's the difference for you between Florabotanica and Rosabotancia?
Florabotancia is for the morning - it smells like an early scent. And Rosabotancia is darker and a little muskier.

When did you last detox your make-up bag?
Oh, that's a great thing to do. Things accumulate and get gross. I try to do it a lot. I'm always traveling, so I get the opportunity often. I'm super OCD about getting rid of things I don't need.

What's the secret to your undone eyeliner?
Usually it's day old. Or you can just put it on and rub it with your finger and a little spit.

Who would win in an "eyebrow off" - you or Cara?
She has got me beat - her eyebrows are pretty epic. I'm glad to be associated with her in the brow department, though.

New Interview & HQ Photos form Balenciaga Press Junket

Kristen's New Interview with Byrdie

Kristen Stewart will be the first to tell you she leads a double life. Since wrapping the last installment of the blockbuster Twilight saga, she’s sunk her teeth into gritty, not-at-all glamorous roles in On The Road and the Sundance hit Camp X-Ray, where she plays a small-town soldier assigned to Guantanamo Bay. All the while landing a Chanel campaign and working as the face of Balenciaga’s fragrances.

“It’s cool that I have this dual life,” she told us. “I’m very simplistic with my makeup in real life, so on the red carpet I like to push it in the other direction. If I’m going to do something, I’m going to do it all the way.” Stewart keeps her must-have lipsticks, eye makeup, and brow pencil handy, but it’s super-hydrating skin products that take up the prime real estate in her makeup bag. “I have to moisturize my skin a lot, you can’t go without makeup if your skin looks haggard and crack-y,” she says. “I always think of that scene in Zoolander when he [Ben Stiller] says “moisture is the essence of beauty,” but it’s so true.”

Stewart prefers to keep her makeup light off-camera, so she works hard to keep her face glowing. “Proactive keeps my skin really clear,” she says. “My biggest thing is to keep my face hydrated and healthy with a lot of moisturizer. I use creams from Dermalogica and Dr. Hauschka.

“I don’t ever use foundation,” Stewart says. She is however, an expert on tinted moisturizer. In her makeup bag you’ll find her mainstay—M.A.C.’s Studio Moisture Tint SPF 15 ($35)—as well as her latest favorite. “I’ve been using Bare Essentials’ Tinted Moisturizer ($30); it’s the lightest one I’ve found,” she says.

Kristen's New Interview with Vogue Germany

New York in January 2014. Kristen Stewart - in jeans, tank top and Balenciaga blazer - will be officially unveiled as the face of the new Balenciaga fragrance "Rosabotanica". In an interview with Vogue, she talks about daring rose fragrances, filming in Germany and her penchant for eyeliner

VOGUE: Congratulations, Nicolas Ghesquière has again committed as a testimonial. He is not the only designer who raves about you ...

Kristen Stewart: Honestly, I can not explain it. But I feel as a muse very comfortable. You meet so many talented people who in turn inspire me. So this is mutual. And I like the creative energy that exists at shoots. It is as if you make a mini movie and has given me a whole new approach to fashion and beauty world.

The shoot for the "Rosabotanica" campaign exotic flowers adorn you.  You wear a smokey eye and a loose fitting updo. Onto which styling you put in everyday life?

I like it a lot, to be styled for photo shoots or film premieres. And I like to wear flashy eye make-ups - if they are suitable for the occasion. But to be honest, what you see on the red carpet, is the work of talented stylists. Privately, I guess naturalness. I prefer to wear outfits that are clean and easy. And as absolutely black eyeliner.

Kristen's New Interview with Marie Claire UK

Kristen Stewart is a red carpet natural, gracing the press pens with such elegance and ease – but the star admits that she hasn't always been so comfortable with her style choices. While talking to the A-list actress in New York last week, we grilled her on style, beauty, and whether she has any wardrobe regrets (surely not) as she prepares to launch her latest partnership with Balenciaga, Rosabotanica.

"Yeah, totally. Let’s see. Definitely, I mean I’ve been doing it for a while so I’ve definitely seen fashions and been like 'woah'," she said.

"It shouldn’t be embarrassing because I was so young, but it doesn’t even matter how young you are, you’re just so, so embarrassed."

We can't imagine Kristen has anything to be embarrassed about when it comes to her sartorial choices. But she said: "I think the pictures that they took at the premiere of Panic Room. It’s like a popular image to show from when I was younger, you know, like 'she was a kid!'. And I look at that and I’m like 'Oh... my... gosh'."

"I had like these baby hairs and I was being weird about them, so I was like, 'I’m just gonna cut them off'. And I had like these little things like poking out from under my hair and behind my ears, and a ridiculous outfit. I did not know how to get dressed up at that age at all, I didn’t even know what I liked. I was just like completely… a goofy kid."

"But it’s just funny to see like that goofy kid version – [because] when I should really be looking at old school photos, I’m looking at a red carpet photo."

Kristen walked the red carpet alongside her co-star and life-long friend Jodie Foster back in 2002 when she was just 12 years old. A blonde, timid actress with the world – and plenty of exciting fashion collaborations – at her feet. As well as her Balenciaga deal, the star last month landed a contract as the latest face of Chanel. And we doubt it'll be her last.

She told us: "I definitely look back and think, 'Oh that wasn’t my best choice', or that it was so obvious that I wasn’t comfortable in that. But at the same time, you know, I liked it then – you can’t really have too many regrets."

"It is a good feeling though, when you get it right and you can walk tall. It shows, everyone can see that."

Wise words indeed, Kristen Stewart.

Balenciaga's Rosabotanica fragrance is released tomorrow, 29 January.

Kristen's New Interview with The Cut

"Kristen, you have a little something in your hair," one of Kristen Stewart's people says during our interview in her hotel room, flicking a little piece of fuzz out of her side-parted hair. She turns back to me, mock-yelling. "Thanks a lot! You weren't going to tell me it was there?" Stewart is nonchalant about the fuzz because 1. Her hair looks glossy and good anyway; and 2. She doesn't spend much time thinking about beauty. Throughout our interview about her beauty routine and her repeat involvement with Balenciaga as the face of its new fragrance, Rosabotanica, Stewart has to resist the urge to air-quote the word beauty. The Cut talked to Stewart about her preference for puffy faces, gardenias, and hatred for hotel shampoo.

How do you use scent as part of your acting process?

Whenever I encounter a product that I’ve used on a previous movie, it will take me right back. [Snaps.] Sometimes there will be things I can’t use, even though it might work for a beauty regimen or something that works for the character. I’ll literally have to find another product to use.

So, something like really basic dry shampoo. I used it on The Runaways, and Joan uses that as well. I couldn’t use it anymore. I was just too reminiscent. Also certain lotions, and Rosebud, that chapstick in a tub? Rosebud lip salve. I used that on some movie when I was younger and then I used it again. And then it was like Whoa. It was too much. But with fragrance, no, it’s not a huge part of my process.

What was your first scent memory?

My favorite flower is a gardenia. My grandma had a big gardenia bush. And gardenias aren’t that common. When you find them, it’s always like, Oh, nice. And it’s my favorite flower now too, because of that.

Kristen's New Interview with Style

Sitting down with Kristen Stewart, I knew I wasn’t in for an interview with your typical, perky perfume spokeswoman who wants to pose for selfies and gab about her go-to mascara (although I asked). She was surprisingly real—wearing a black Balenciaga leather jacket, no nail polish, and her signature mussed-up waves. She was also very candid about the fact that what you see on the red carpet is the product of a talented team—she wakes up with “raccoon eyes” just like the rest of us. And if you’re wondering: She smiled and laughed. Here, Stewart reveals her thoughts on the new Rosabotanica fragrance from Balenciaga(for which she is the face) and the two things you’ll never see her wear.
What do you like most about Rosabotanica?
It’s the perfect counterpart to Florabotanica, which I really grew to love and use constantly. I haven’t had much experience with fragrance, so it’s nice to expand my collection—even though I’m at two right now. It’s slightly warmer and a bit more bold; you get a lot of the rose in there. I might wear it at night versus day.
Where do you spritz it?
Classic spots: two under the neck and one over what I’m wearing so it stays on the clothes. Neither of them is too in-your-face—Florabotanica even less than Rosa.
Before you were introduced to Balenciaga, what was your go-to scent?
This is where I started. I started doing this when I was 22 or something. Possibly 21. I hadn’t really experimented with using fragrance.

New Kristen Interview & UHQ Pics from PopSugar Beauty

imagebam.com imagebam.com imagebam.com

Kristen Stewart looks like an edgy Disney princess. Sitting across from her at a posh suite decorated with her recent campaign for Balenciaga's Florabotanica fragrance at the Bowery Hotel in NYC, I am taken in by her charisma. She has creamy (dare I say snowy) white skin that she credits to her lifelong addiction to Proactiv, soulful green eyes outlined with a smudge of smoky eye shadow, and a curvaceous rose-hued mouth. Juxtaposing her delicate features is her enviably naturally beach-textured hair, casually thrown to one side and spilling over her light denim button-down, which she paired with dark denim jeans. If she passed me on the street in a hat, sunglasses, and puffy coat, I would probably mistake her for another petite brunette New Yorker. She's that girl-next-door.

But as I mentioned, she's undeniably charming — as she earnestly answers all my beauty questions, I feel myself rooting for her just as I've rooted for her many famous characters (Bella Swan from Twilight, Snow White from Snow White and the Huntsman, and so on). She's undoubtably an A-list movie star of the young Hollywood set, and being in the spotlight has made her a style icon known for her edgy sartorial choices. With her second Balenciaga campaign under her belt, she is eager to talk all things grooming, including her all-or-nothing attitude toward red lips, the key ingredient to her effortlessly cool mane, and which male celebrity may be inspiring her next hairstyle.

POPSUGAR: You’ve been the face of Balenciaga for a few seasons now. What draws you back to the house?

Kristen Stewart: Following through with the telling of the whole story — the basis of where the perfume lives. Nicolas [Ghesquière] started with Florabotanica and the idea that girl was traversing this dangerous but beautiful and exotic garden. And she was sort of extracting these scents and becoming herself. And it continued and the story was just awesome and interesting. We always planned on following through with it.

PS: What was it like shooting the new campaign?

KS: It was fun and cool. The imagery that is on my body was physically there. The flowers were all handmade, perfectly formed paper flowers. It was cool to see those in person.

PS: Explain the decision to go topless for it?

KS: It was just about being simple. We had no intention of suggesting that I was completely naked. It was just about making it about the fragrance and the imagery.

Kristen's New Interview and Photos for Into the Gloss

imagebam.com imagebam.com imagebam.com imagebam.com

“If you looked at pictures of me when I was 14 or 15, you couldn’t tell the difference between me and my brothers. I looked like a boy, fully. I really like extremes. I wear jeans and t-shirts and am a total tomboy, but at the same time, when I pull out all the stops [for an event], I want to fucking go for it, polarized in the other direction from my reality. Everything Balenciaga makes is beautiful; watching their runway shows is like watching a movie. But wearing it is not the easiest thing. It’s tough to integrate that type of thing into your life. But when you can do it—wear something unexpected, with your personal style—it’s incredibly badass.

Kristen's New Interview in Flare Magazine (Feb 2014 Issue)

1. Hands-Off Hair: "I don't was it a whole lot, so I use dry shampoo. Luckily I have a natural wave too. "
2. Canadian Cuisine: "Poutine is so intense. To put gravy on french fries with cheese-it's the gnarliest fucking thing, but it's good."
3. Ear Candy: "I was really into interpol when I was little, so listening to them is nostalgic."
4. Worthwhile Souvenir: "I bring books home whenever. "
5. Red-Carpet Special: Converse Shoes, $60.
It’s been a tough year for Twihards. The film series ended, Robsten split, and neither Kristen Stewart nor Robert Pattinson has graced the screen since. But wait: Stewart’s angsty lip curl can now be spotted on a new crop of Balenciaga ads for Rosabotanica (Florabotanica’s follow-up scent), where her stony, smoky-eyed stare contrasts the vivid floral vines creeping over her shoulder. The spicy rose-pepper blend aptly reflects the non-conformist personality the 23-year-old’s fans have come to adore.
Stewart’s F-bombed frankness and red-carpet Chuck Taylors are some of her best assets—because they’re real. “I had looked at the fashion world as superficial,” she admits when asked about her collaboration with Balenciaga’s former creative director Nicolas Ghesquière, whom she considers a “true artist.” “Before the photo shoot I did with him, it was always fucking torture,” she says of studio sessions. It’s this passion-first attitude that precipitated a gutsy two-year acting hiatus. “Unless there’s a story that you just fucking have to help bring to life, it’s not worth it,” she explains.
Two roles have lured her back. In Sils Maria, she portrays a personal assistant to a troubled, aging actress, played by real-life Oscar winner Juliette Binoche. And in Camp X-Ray, a drama set in Guantanamo Bay, she plays a simple girl with unwavering ideals who realizes life isn’t black-and-white. “Her eyes are smashed open, and I know that feeling,” Stewart says, hinting, perhaps, at last year’s troubles.
As Twi fans wait for those flicks and her newly announced Chanel fashion campaign to be released later this year, they continue to beg, via tear-filled YouTube tirades, for a Bella-and-Edward reunion, be it fictional or real. Meanwhile, gossip blogs speculate daily about the pair’s on-again, off-again status. “They cast you as easily identifiable characters they can sell to the masses,” says Stewart. “When people pick up newspapers and read perfect summaries of my life in little concise stories, it’s kind of silly. Can anyone’s life be put into words like that?” Stewart is far from one-dimensional, and it’s that sense of mystery that keeps us hooked. A rose any less thorny surely wouldn’t be as sweet.
