Kellan Lutz left his green footprint on the Oscars red carpet. The actor wore the first-ever sustainable tuxedo as part of Red Carpet Green Dress, actress Suzy Amis Cameron’s campaign to draw attention to eco fashion. And we have all the exclusive details on his sleek look.
The tux was designed by Jomnarn Dul from H Brothers, a menswear retailer based in New Zealand. “I couldn’t be more thrilled to have Kellan and H Brothers on board the campaign this year,” Amis Cameron shares. “I believe reaching our youth is the most effective way to bring about real change.”
And Lutz was honored to wear the unique look. Catch our exclusive interview with the star below.
PEOPLE: How many fittings did you have? Were there any changes made to the original design and, if so, what changes did you request specifically?
KL: I had just two fittings. The changes were mainly alterations to fit me. I didn’t want to change the design of the tux as it was their vision that won the contest. I’m just the lucky one who gets to wear this amazing creation.
PEOPLE: What other accessories did you add to make your suit stand out?
KL: I just added David Yurman cuff links and a ring to add a little of my style.
PEOPLE: Take us through the process of getting ready.
KL: I got ready at my place. Not too many people around. Just the stylist to make sure everything is in its place.
PEOPLE: This is your first trip to the Oscars, are you excited? Nervous? Who is your date?
KL: Yes, this is my first time going to the actual show. I’m very excited. A little nervous as well. It’s going to be an amazing night. I’m excited to be attending the show with so many great nominated films and actors.
PEOPLE: On the red carpet, reporters always ask women what they’re carrying in their purse, what’s in your pockets?

KL:I have my phone, wallet, Chapstick and mints.

PEOPLE: How did you become involved with Red Carpet Green Dress?

KL: I got involved with Red Carpet Green Dress as a personal invite from Suzy Amis Cameron. We have similar views on eco-friendly products of all kinds, and I’m honored she chose me to represent the campaign at the Oscars.
