Jackson's Super Bowl XLVII Pick

Since 1986, the Scripps Celebrity Super Bowl Poll has been asking big names in entertainment, news, sports and pop culture to predict the outcome of the big game. This year, more than 115 celebrities picked between the San Francisco 49ers, led by quarterback Colin Kaepernick, and the Baltimore Ravens, featuring linebacker Ray Lewis.

And this year the majority says the 49ers will seize the Lombardi Trophy in New Orleans.

Speaking of trophies, beginning in 2003, Scripps Howard has presented the Super Sage Award trophy to the celebrity who picks the winning team and comes closest to predicting the actual final score. Past winners include comedian Phyllis Diller, actor Dennis Farina, evangelist Pat Robertson and magician Penn Jillette.

JACKSON RATHBONE, actor, "Twilight": 49ers, 31-24. The reason behind the prediction is the emergence of Colin Kaepernick, the quarterback for San Fran. He's on fire right now and he looks like early Tom Brady when he won his first Super Bowl. I think they have the momentum and Kaepernick came out of nowhere midseason when the Niners' starting quarterback, Alex Smith, got hurt, so there is very little info on him as far as game preparation goes for opponents. He's really hard to defend because he's a threat to pass and run; most quarterbacks aren't as big, strong and mobile as he is. He is the next big deal in the NFL, and we are watching the beginning of his emergence as an elite quarterback in the league.
