Rob Spotted in Old Town Alexandria on Saturday Night

Film star Robert Pattinson autographed a menu at The Majestic Saturday for Eve Armstrong, 13-year-old daughter of Chef Cathal Armstrong.
Patrons at The Majestic got a pleasant surprise Saturday night when film star Robert Pattinson, most famous for his role playing a forever-young teenage vampire Edward in the "Twilight" films, strolled in for dinner with friends while in town for the White House Correspondents Dinner.

The Majestic is a cozy upscale diner on King Street in historic Alexandria, a suburb of Washington, D.C., in Virginia that specializes in comfort food.

Pattinson, 25, a London native, mingled easily with the crowd at the bar while waiting for a table, according to Jennie Kuperstein, publicist for The Eat Good Food Group.

Pattinson dined with four friends, ordering a steak—medium rare—prepared by Majestic Chef Shannon Overmiller and autographing a menu for Eve Armstrong, Chef Cathal Armstrong's 13-year-old daughter. The steak on the menu is described as "All Natural Virginia New York Strip Steak" which comes with fries and sells for $27.

Kristen to Star in Thriller 'Cali'

Variety' Snow White' actress set for Voltage action pic.

"Snow White and the Huntsman" star Kristen Stewart is set to topline "Cali," a gritty action pic set in Los Angeles that will be produced by Voltage Productions and New School Media.

Michael Diliberti ("30 Minutes or Less") wrote the script, which follows Mya (Stewart) and Chris, a pair of San Fernando Valley lovebirds with a penchant for bad choices and dangerous behavior. After selling a fake snuff film featuring Mya, they ride off into the sunset with a bundle of cash. Years later, Mya must "return from the dead" to save the younger sister she left behind in Cali, where the young couple contends with angry former business partners, homicidal porn stars, stoner vet techs, an unstoppable killing machine in a cowboy hat and their own contentious relationship.

Craig J. Flores ("300") and Zev Foreman ("Killer Joe") will produce for Voltage, while Diliberti will also produce. His manager, Brian Levy of New School Media, will exec produce with Voltage topper Nicolas Chartier ("The Hurt Locker") and Stewart, who will pick up her first producing credit on the project.

Diliberti developed the script on spec before it was acquired by Voltage, which attached Stewart. Producers are currently out to directors and they're anticipating a late summer start date.

"Kristen is a talented and dynamic actor, with a proven box office draw," said Flores. "Her role in 'Cali' will be edgy and sexy. It will no doubt push the envelope on the public's view of Kristen's wide-ranging abilities. Voltage is thrilled to have her as a partner on this fantastic film."

"Cali" marks a return to indie fare for Stewart, who has balanced the "Twilight" franchise pics like "Welcome to the Rileys," "The Runaways" and Walter Salles' upcoming adaptation of "On the Road." Thesp next stars in Universal's "Snow White and the Huntsman" and the final installment in "The Twilight Saga," which Summit will release on Nov. 16.

Diliberti is coming off the seven-figure spec sale to GK Films of comedy "Little White Corvette," which has Emma Stone attached to star. Scribe is also writing a Fox 2000 project for "Crazy, Stupid, Love" helmers John Requa and Glenn Ficarra that Simon Kinberg is producing, a Sony pic for Seth Gordon that Matt Tolmach is producing and a Warner Bros. movie for Todd Phillips with his Green Hat Films banner producing.

Voltage, which produced Kathryn Bigelow's Oscar winner "The Hurt Locker," is currently in pre-production on Shia LaBeouf-starrer "The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman" and post-production on Robert Redford's political action-thriller "The Company You Keep," which also stars LaBeouf. Stewart is repped by Gersh and McKuin, Frankel and Whitehead, while WME and New School Media reps Diliberti.

Rupert Sanders Bleeds for SWATH

LATimes Early in”Snow White and the Huntsman,”several droplets of blood fall to the frozen ground in extreme slow motion, a sample not only of the menace to follow but also of first-time director Rupert Sanders’ truly painstaking attention to detail.

The shot was the last sequence filmed by the veteran commercial director, and no matter how hard the crew tried, the production’s artificial serum never had the proper viscosity or splatter. “It just looked like raspberry jam,” Sanders said. So Sanders insisted that a crew member draw about 10 teaspoons of the director’s own blood in a syringe, and that’s what audiences will see when “Snow White” opens June 1.

Though there are plenty of fairies and magical beasts in his “Snow White,” Sanders’ movie plays like a late 15th century “Gladiator.”With a script by John Lee Hancock (“The Blind Side”), Hossein Amini (“Drive”) and newcomer Evan Daugherty, “Snow White” follows the contours of the fairy tale, complete with charming woodland creatures and a passel of dwarfs, while injecting it with grit and verisimilitude. Snow White (Kristen Stewart) may be the fairest of them all, but there’s more dirt under her fingernails than most 5-year-old boys. “Trying to ground everything in reality was the most important thing to me,” Sanders said.

In his telling, Snow White is no damsel in distress. Rather, she’s both warrior and healer — she has the power to restore nature, whose balance the queen has upset. Like a vampire who consumes both flesh and earth, Ravenna has leveled the land, deforesting the home of countless wild beasts, trolls, sprites and dwarfs. “She’s a burning fire that touches the tinder of the people around her,” the director said of Snow White. “They see something in her that can make them whole again. She’s the beating heart of life.Read in full

Charlize talks about Kristen with Access Hollywood

Access Hollywood Charlize Theron and Kristen Stewart have become the best of friends since playing mortal enemies in the upcoming “Snow White and the Huntsman” – so much so, that Charlize says she’d do just about anything for the “Twilight Saga” star.

I really, I really, really love that girl. I love that girl, like, I would jump off a building for that girl,” Charlize, 36, told Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush at CinemaCon 2012 in Las Vegas when asked about Kristen. “She’s amazing, she’s amazing. She’s the real deal… [and] she gives really good back rubs.”

And the lovefest didn’t stop there! In addition to KStew’s apparent massage skills, Charlize admires the 22-year-old actress’ acting ability and dedication. “[Kristen] is the kind of actor that I like to be around because there’s nothing she’d really stop at in order to do the job,” Charlize explained. “She’s got a tremendous amount of talent and, you know, I think you can have talent, but if you don’t have tenacity and moxy… She’s bad ass.”   Read in full

From Deadline:

Next up was extended footage from U’s June 1 release Snow White And The Huntsman and the exhibs seemed to like it, especially when stars Charlize Theron, Kristen Stewart, producer Joe Roth and first time feature director Rupert Sanders came out. Fogelson explained they and Roth were willing to take the huge risk on Sanders based of the pitch reel he created to get the job. Roth noted he just saw the finished film last Saturday. “I can’t imagine anyone over the age of ten who won’t love it,” he said. Spoken like a true producer. Rocco told Deadline last night she’s especially high on this one – and that’s despite the fact of that “other” Snow White film in the market as Roth said. Theron said she went into the project telling the studio and Roth, “if you want me to do it we have to make it balls-to-the-wall”, to which Sanders cracked “I didn’t realize they would be my balls!”

From LA Times: 24 Frames:

“Snow White and The Huntsman” received one of the more enthusiastic responses from the audience, who were visibly excited to see Stewart, Theron, director Rupert Sanders and producer Joe Roth emerge from backstage. Kristen called the film the “perfect choice for me. It was something to prove myself in,” the “Twilight” veteran said.
